Clean Air Zones (CAZ’S)

A Clean Air Zone defines an area where targeted action is taken to improve air quality.  CAZ’s aim to address all sources of pollution, including nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter, and reduce public exposure to them using a range of measures tailored to the particular location.  Vehicle owners may be required to pay a charge to enter, or move within, a zone if they are driving a vehicle that does not meet the particular standard.

Local authorities across the UK have a deadline this month to produce plans on how they will tackle air quality.   These plans could see CAZ’S introduced restricting fleet based on emissions, this is where the HJS Real Blue SCRT® system can help vehicle operators reach Euro VI standards.
